Are you interested in becoming an environmental steward in your neighbourhood? We are excited to announce we will be hosting free educational walks along Junction Creek to help to spread awareness of the ecological challenges posed by invasive plants and empower community stewards! Learn about invasive species identification, prevention, and management while enjoying the beauty of our urban waterways. Each walk will include an invasive plant removal activity (supplies provided)! 

The walks will be on Mondays at 5pm rain or shine. See below for a list of locations and dates. Registration required.  

Locations and dates:  

  • July 18th @ 5pm: Start at Twin Forks Playground to Lasalle Blvd 
  • July 25th @5pm: Start at Regent St through the Roxborough Greenbelt 
  • August 8th @5pm: Start at Lilac St to Martindale Rd 
  • August 15th @5pm: Start at Mountain St to Agnes St
