This project promotes better practices to reduce pollutants from entering the creek in stormwater runoff. Local students and volunteers participate in Trout Unlimited Canada’s Yellow Fish Road™ program to help raise awareness throughout communities in Greater Sudbury.
In 2019, students and local artist Katie Fenerty painted blue creek critters along the path that Junction Creek flows under Downtown Sudbury to raise awareness about the 800 m section of Junction Creek that flows under the heart of the City. A total of 57 yellow fish and ‘rainwater only’ stencils were painted above stormwater grates throughout Downtown Sudbury.
