TD Tree Days Event
The Junction Creek Stewardship Committee would like to invite you to a community tree planting event on Saturday October 17th. Help us bring new life to Junction Creek! By planting trees, you’ll be restoring shoreline habitat, creating healthier waters, supporting local wildlife, mitigating climate change, building a more resilient community, and making our trails more vibrant for everyone.
Our community tree planting event is a celebration of collective action for a greener future. Each tree planted represents a step toward healing our local ecosystems, nurturing biodiversity, and creating positive change right here in our community. Together, we’re turning hope into action!
Date: Saturday October 17th, 2026 (rain or shine)
Time: 1-4 pm
Location: Garson trails along Junction Creek by the Public Library (214 Orell St)
Join us for a hands-on restoration day as we plant 150 native trees and shrubs and remove invasive Phragmites along the headwaters of Junction Creek. Volunteers of all ages and experience levels are welcome, and community service hours are available for those who need them. It’s a great opportunity to contribute to the ongoing restoration of our local waterway!
We’ve Got You Covered
Gloves, shovels, snacks, and refreshments will be provided. Just bring weather-appropriate clothing and come ready to get your hands dirty!

About TD Tree Days
TD Tree Days is the flagship volunteer and urban greening program of the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF). More than a day of tree planting, the program gives people an opportunity to show up for the places we share, connect with neighbours, colleagues, friends and family, and learn from local experts.
Each year, TD works with local not-for-profits, municipalities, conservation authorities, and Indigenous communities to bring planting events to life in green spaces across the TD North American footprint. These organizations provide valuable local expertise and help ensure planting activities respond to community needs and conditions, including selecting the right trees and shrubs for the right places.
In 2026, TD is working with 75 organizations to plant more than 30,000 trees and shrubs. This will contribute to the more than 590,000 trees and shrubs planted by volunteers through TD Tree Days since 2010.
