The Empowering Youth for Junction Creek (EYJC) program was formed by youth for youth in 2021. The FREE program is geared towards youth aged 14-18 in N'Swakamok/ Greater Sudbury and is welcoming to all backgrounds and levels of experience. The program strives to be accessible and minimize barriers to give teens the opportunity to explore and connect with nature in a variety of ways, volunteer in the community, and interact with like-minded individuals.

Activities include wildlife surveys, guided nature hikes, invasive species removals, water quality monitoring, native planting, litter cleanups, nature art, connecting with local Indigenous Experts for cross-cultural crafts/teachings, and more! Volunteer activities can count towards community service hours. Participants gain the tools to become local stewards and make a positive change in their community, all while learning about nature and having fun outside!
